Queen Nanny


Queen nanny was a well-known leader of maroon people from Africa in
 1800th, she was born in Ghana in West Africa to the Ashanti people
tribe then she was taken as a slave from Africa and brought to Jamaica
 saint Thomas in course of transatlantic slave trade. She became the
 most powerful women at the time, she encouraged her people by
 giving them their freedom with powerful speeches, as a matter of fact
 she was famous in her people additionally in the British settler’s in
 Jamaica she was the women with obligation to get freedom from the
British people to her own people who is been living under the British
people for long time. Her cleverness in planning guerrilla warfare
disorganized the British and their versions of the fights reflect the
surprise and fear which the Maroon traps caused among them. She was
also a wise woman, she reinvigorated the people of maroons to
continue their costumes and practice religion with the help of music to
keep her people inspired by the culture religion. Similarly, as we read in
the Anansi stories about the women who is been in love with that girl
but her mother wants him not to be in love with her because she will
lose all the things she had from his son but the son keeps his love for
that girl and ended up with her in her grave. “a foolish mother”. This
story tells us we should have keep what we have rather than going for
something which we can’t get. Queen nanny build up a free community
for her own people in the blue mountain of Jamaica just for the sake of
her people and try to get them what they want, and deserve but she
got more than what she should get because she was helping her

 It is Usually assumed that we learn from our past, but it is right?  Does equality exist in society ? Because we almost kept people for hundreds of years and save them.  Inequality has existed in our society for thousands of years. Moreover, we cannot deny the fact that inequality eviscerated in our root; In today's world, people still have to face bias and prejudice in this society.
